An explanation of exactly how our scoring system works.

NUGGETRY reviews are created by stoners, for stoners. You can expect honest and accurate information from a team with decades of experience in the Southern California marijuana industry.

Our scoring system is pretty simple. We use a “1 to 5” scale for all of our reviews. A score of 1.0 is the lowest score possible and 5.0 is a perfect score.

That being said, you will only find reviews with a score of 4.5 or higher posted on NUGGETRY.

We do not list a bunch of crap and then create some sliding scale to prioritize that crap. Why bother? All that does is piss off the crap producer or the owner of the crap shop. Stoners need to know what’s good. Who cares about the rest?

(BTW, if you have a question about the quality of a shop or brand in SoCal that is not listed on NUGGETRY send us an email and we’ll give you our opinion.)

If the subject being reviewed (giantdispensarybrand, or product) earns a score of 4.5 out of 5 or higher, we post the review. If the score is 4.49 or lower, we don’t post the review.

We only post quality.

Yes, our standards are unreasonably high. And they should be. Just because this new market is regulated and a lot different than what we used to have doesn’t mean it has to suck. Yes, there is a lot of crap being packaged and sold as top shelf. There always has been. The difference now is that there’s a lot less real brands and top shelf dispensaries for consumers to fall back on. Good shit is out there. You just need to know what to look for and exactly where to look.

Being NUGGETRY rated means that our team of stoners has put a subject to the test and it passed with flying colors. Barely qualifying doesn’t cut it. We’re kind of like the navy seals in that we only accept the best of the best. A NUGGETRY listing is a badge of honor for that brand because, trust me, we are not easy to please. You’re looking at some of the pickiest stoners in the state.

Only top top top shelf reviews are posted. Everything else is deleted from our hard drives for good.

If a shop, brand, or product is NUGGETRY rated you can bank on it. There’s no reason for you to waste your time and money on bullshit and there’s no reason for us to review it. We take getting high very seriously. Maybe a little too seriously. But it’s that passion for a quality experience that motivates us in our endless hunt for the best.

Only top top top shelf reviews are posted. Everything else is deleted from our hard drives for good.

Content posted on NUGGETRY is written by hardcore stoners on our staff. We do not rely on, or use, consumer opinion or crowdsourced information in any way when writing a review.

Good, bad, or ugly it’s all us.

To those of you who might think this somehow puts us at a disadvantage I say get to know us first. You’ll see things are a little different around here. This isn’t your normal boring weed news blog. We love using the best thc products available to get super high and look forward to sharing our knowledge so you can too.

1. Be cool. This is a must for every subject listed on NUGGETRY. It doesn’t matter how dominant a giant is, how popular a brand is, how strong a product is, or how well stocked a dispensary stays. If it ain’t cool, it’s out. There’s no room on NUGGETRY for companies that don’t know how to act. If you don’t know what I mean by “how to act”, read this guide on the Rules to the Game.

2. Must be high quality and score well in all of the following:

  • Reputation
  • Products
  • Operations
  • Reputation
  • Location
  • Stock
  • Prices
  • Staff
  • Reputation
  • Products
  • Availability
  • Consistency
  • Looks
  • Smell
  • Taste
  • High
3. Accurate product finder page. Preferably an updated WM brand page, but an updated page on a brand’s own website works as well. (Contact us if you need advice on setting up either.) We require the subjects of our reviews have a current finder page so that we can provide you with a list of buying locations and options. Instead of trying to recreate a brand’s website or what Weedmaps has already built, we link to other sites when needed. There are no maps or menus on NUGGETRY. We are here to do what we do best, give you our honest and accurate opinion on quality.
