How to make a gravity bong
Ever heard of a gravity bong? It’s one of the easiest ways to get yourself super high and in this article we are going to teach you exactly how to make a gravity bong. There are literally dozens of ways to get high and a gravity bong (also known as a bucket bong) to this day is still one of the most effective. My friend Rudy’s bucket bong is one of the only smoking devices that made me puke after one rip. Trust me, they hit harder than you’d expect such a simple, homemade bong to hit.
Normally gravity bongs are used during a fat session with friends. They’re very social and a blast to use when you’re hanging out with a few buddies and you need to stretch your weed. With a gravity bong, a little goes a long way.
How does a gravity bong work?
The term ‘gravity bong’ refers to the process of of pulling smoke into a ‘bong’ (the term bong is used loosely here) and forcing it out using gravity. Actually you use suction and pressure but the term gravity sounds cooler.
A traditional gravity bong uses a two liter bottle with the bottom cut off, a cap/bowl attached to the top, and a five gallon bucket full of water. There are many different variations that people have come up with over the years that work just as good. After unscrewing the top, the two liter bottle is placed inside the bucket of water. The bottle should not be totally submerged as that’s the fastest way to end up with a mouthful of water. The top of the bottle should stick out of the water. Next you screw the top/bowl onto the bottle that’s full of water and pack the bowl full of weed. Using one hand you light the bowl while slowly pulling the bottle up with the other hand making sure the bottom of the bottle does not break the waterline. As you lift the bottle the suction created with pull smoke into the bottle. When done correctly it should be very milky and impossible to see through. After filling the bottle with smoke unscrew the cap/bowl piece, put your mouth over the top and push the bottle back down into the water. The pressure caused will push the smoke out of the bottle and into your lungs. The faster you push the bottle down, the harder the hit.
Instead of laying out the step-by-step process of making a gravity bong we thought it would just be easier for you to watch Nick from the budzandbeardz YouTube channel show you himself. The video is age restricted so you’ll have to click through to YouTube to watch it but trust me, it’s worth it. Nick is very thorough and covers every part of making a gravity bong. His rips at the end of the video are right on point.
